Cape Town Pelagics, a sister company to Birding Africa, offers dedicated seabirding pelagic trips, led by marine ornithologists and experienced pelagic guides. We take our pelagic birding vessels all the way to the edge of the continental shelf, 30-40 km offshore. Here we approach fishing vessels, where unbelievably large number of pelagic birds aggregate. This presents the opportunity to see thousands of albatrosses! We regularly see 25-30 seabird species on our trips, including endemic cormorants, gannets, African Penguin and gulls. The company has been in operation for five years, but we’ve all been birding and studying seabirds for a lot longer than that!
Cape Town Pelagics is the only company to offers mid-week trips and tailor-made pelagics at affordable prices for small groups. We also offer the widest range of tour dates of any company! We give personalised guiding attention, and smaller groups can enjoy an exclusive experience with our world-class guides. You can combine pelagic birding with land-birding, with individualised itineraries that include guiding services from the best endemic-finders in the country, with our sister company Birding Africa. Capetownpelagics / Birding Africa offer discounts for pelagic-landbird packages – definitely the best value-for-money, quality birding in the country. We also offer a range of booking services. So if you just want some advice about where to find birds, where to stay and what to do besides birding, drop us an email, we are always happy to help out. |
